Thanks to preparation and planning, two high school seniors are heading straight into a nursing education program.

Brooklyn Johnson and Kyra Allen signed letters of intent for 鶹ԭ's nursing and apprenticeship programs with Altru Health System. The students signed on with 鶹ԭ and Altru at a special event May 22nd in Grand Forks.

鶹ԭ aims to offer prerequisite courses for nursing students. These early courses let students focus on nursing skills once accepted into the program.

Students taking dual credit or advanced placement courses can be admitted directly into 鶹ԭ's nursing program in Fall 2025.

鶹ԭ offers practical nursing and associate degree (RN) programs at sites in Devils Lake, Jamestown, Mayville, and Grand Forks. An online mobility option with face-to-face clinicals and labs is available. 鶹ԭ is part of the Dakota Nursing Program, a collaboration of four colleges. These include Bismarck State College, Dakota College at Bottineau, 鶹ԭ, and Williston State College, providing shared instructors and extensive expertise.

Student nurses receive hands-on lab and clinical experience with local instructors and classroom instruction via video conferences and online formats. Accepted students will study and gain experience in hospitals, acute care centers, long-term care facilities, home care agencies, and clinics.
